2019-2020 Catechumen Class Begins November 6th

Every year, more and more people become interested in the Holy Orthodox Faith. Whenever someone expresses interest in learning about Orthodoxy, and her teachings and Traditions, he becomes an inquirer. If that interest blossoms into a desire to become an Orthodox Christian, then he enters what we call the catechumenate. This “institution” prepares catechumens for full membership within the Orthodox Church, which they will receive upon their baptism and chrismation.

Just in time for the upcoming Advent fast, St. John’s will hold our 2019-2020 Catechumen and Inquirers Class. Every Wednesday night for the next several weeks, we will celebrate the Advent Paraklesis service upstairs in the church. Then, we will proceed down to the fellowship hall for refreshments and lecture/discussion. The first class will be held on November 6th, and will continue on a weekly basis until the end of spring.

Whether you’re wondering what in the world the Orthodox Church is, are looking to become Orthodox in the near future, or have been Orthodox for quite some time, join us! All are welcome to participate in this class.
